Following a period of closure we are pleased to announce our electrical workshops are fully operational and Household Appliances will once again be sold at RE:SOURCE from Friday 5th August.The workshops were temporarily closed to allow us to reassess and redesign our workshops and their processes in order to help us save more appliances from landfill.

The award winning Social Enterprise is currently undergoing a complete redesign of all its workshop spaces to provide much greater capacity for the future. In a bid to increase efficiency and further lower environmental impacts, the electrical workshops will be redesigned, enabling the company to gear up their processes to increase the amount of appliances that they are taking out of the waste stream. 26/04/11 - WEEE is getting worse
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is the fastest growing waste problem in Europe. To make matters worse, authorities do not know where half of it ends up. At current capacity only one third is safely discarded. Annual generation of unwanted TVs, computers, mobile phones, kettles, refrigerators and the like, outstrips the ability to collect and recycle it. Read the full story...
11/04/11 - Battery Recycling at RE:SOURCE
We are pleased to announce that you can now bring your batteries to RE:SOURE for recycling.
It is estimated that up to 20,000 tonnes of batteries are landfilled in the UK every year. Batteries contain harmful metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, zinc, manganese and lithium. It can be damaging to the environment to simply throw these in the bin as they are sent to landfill, where they can leak these harmful substances into the surrounding soil. RE:SOURCE, the Bodmin based furniture reuse centre are appealing to local residents to donate their unwanted furniture and appliances this Climate Week.
Climate Week which begins on March 21st is a national occasion aimed at combating Climate Change and will involve thousands of businesses, charities, schools and councils in a variety of climate focussed events. Read the full story... Starting Out Wins People's Millions
Cornish project Starting Out has been awarded £50,000 to help Cornwall’s homeless, following a public phone vote.The project will be run by a partnership of three established Cornish reuse centres (RE:SOURCE, SOFA & GOFA) and will provide furniture starter packs to help homeless people move into accommodation.
