Martin Warne
Meet Martin, who has been volunteering at RE:SOURCE for nearly 3 years and has recently earned a level 1 qualification in Computer skills, which he passed with a score of 100%!

Q: What made you decide to volunteer at RE:SOURCE?
A:
I had been out of work for two years due to health reasons, and I was looking for somewhere to keep me busy – to make a change, and see new faces.

Q: What is volunteering at RE:SOURCE like? How would you describe the atmosphere?
A:
I love it!  It’s very relaxed and everyone is so nice. It’s always very warm and friendly here.

Q: Tell me about what you do at RE:SOURCE, what is a typical day like?
A: On a typical day it’s very busy in the mornings, especially on the phones. Actually, it gets very busy again in the afternoon too!! I do general office jobs as well as taking phone calls.

Q: How long have you been volunteering at RE:SOURCE?
A: It will be three years come this May.

Q: What skills have you acquired and expanded upon since you started volunteering at RE:SOURCE?
A:
I’ve gained a lot of confidence, from all the people I talk to in the office and on the phone. I’ve also done a computer course qualification at level 1 recently through ReZolve Skills that I passed with 100%.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about volunteering at RE:SOURCE?
A: I like talking to and meeting all the different people mainly, it gives me a purpose and it keeps me busy. I enjoy it all.

Q: Would you recommend volunteering at RE:SOURCE to others too?
A: For other people like me I definitely would, it’s great here.
